World
renowned photographer Zalmai, a former refugee, will exhibit his
work in Washington, DC, at National Geographic Museum at Explorers
Hall and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts with a photographic
exhibition: “Return, Afghanistan,” sponsored by UNHCR
and Aperture, a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to advancing
fine photography.

The
exhibit depicts the reconstruction of Afghanistan and the return
of refugees and displaced persons. Zalmai’s work reveals the
continued need for the world’s focus on this region and the
positive contributions refugees bring to their countries of refuge.
